I cannot get over the trip to New Orleans. It is one of the most cherished memories in my heart.
Still the melodies coming out from the souls of these singers, players giving their best to entertain the crowds rings in my mind. Each note coming out from the trumpet, the piano, the double bass was telling a story. I remember I was sitting down at a piano bar, while Bill the pianist while sipping a bourbon played the most soulful rendition of Lady In Red song creating a beautiful lady wearing red coming down stairs with a wine in her hand in our minds.
Well it is not just soul music. The food!!! How delicious can food be you try to wonder. Each bite tingles your taste buds one at a time, creating a one of the most cultured experiences that you can have.
We went to New Orleans from the Newark Airport and you need about 4 days to go to these must go places. From the New Orleans cemeteries, to how the hurricane Katrina impacted the lives of the people to night life.
We went to the bourbon street two nights in a row as couldn’t get enough of the night life there. Whether it is Mardi Gras or not, it is a festival every night at the bourbon street. Stretches of bars and pubs with the best music that you have ever heard.
I think it was 1.30 a.m. when we had the tastiest beignet with sipping a lovely hot chocolate.
